Counseling
Welcome to Squalicum High School.
Squalicum High School has three counselors and a career specialist to provide guidance and counseling services to students. Students are assigned to a house counselor and will remain with that counselor throughout their high school years. Among the services provided by the counseling staff are:
- personal counseling to individual students.
- assistance with scheduling classes and developing academic plans for successful completion of high school.
- assistance in acquiring additional credits if credit deficiencies exist.
- information and referrals to parents.
- organization and facilitation of support groups for students.
- interpretation of standardized test results to assist students with educational planning.
- assistance with on-going career information, individually and in groups.
- assistance with information about two and four year colleges, universities, vocational schools, the military, apprenticeships and work experience.
- information about scholarships and financial aid.
- assistance with monitoring academic progress of students through conferences, staffings, schedule adjustment, referrals to outside agencies, alternative programs, learning support and parent conferences.
- assistance with preparation of credential packets for distribution to college admissions offices and scholarships organizations.
Counselors are available to meet with parents and students by appointment.
