Class of 2009 Parents

We are working hard to find alternatives for time-consuming fundraisers to help cover the costs of our “Senior Year Celebration”.

This Overnight Graduation party celebrates the years at Squalicum High School in a way that is fun, memorable, Safe & Substance Free. The class of 2002’s party cost them over $22,000.00 for a class size smaller than ours. Some of the costs associated with this event will be transportation, entertainment, scholarships, facilities reservations, and food.

Classes before ours have found an alternative & effective way to provide for this celebration. They call it “Just Say No to Fundraising” and ask each family to make a contribution of $150.00 per year for four years. These pledges are to the general PTSA fund (and not to an individual) and can be tax deductible. You can break up the amount into payments, whatever works best for your situation. Your funds will pass through the PTSA budget up through graduation.

Our class will also benefit financially by working in the concession stand (all four years). We will need parent help for this. During our Senior year, we are responsible for the Back to School Dance, the Homecoming Chili Feed and Spring Dessert Auction. We will need help from parents in order to organize these events. We also need help from time to time chaperoning events at the school.
